Project Description:
LARCAN, in partnership with Smart Connection Consultancy, was engaged by Singleton Council to deliver a comprehensive community and stakeholder engagement process to inform the future redevelopment of the Singleton Heights Sports Centre. The engagement process ultimately helped reshape the project vision into a broader ‘health and wellness hub’, reflecting community health needs and aspirations for inclusive, accessible infrastructure.
Description of Services:
- Developed a comprehensive Community Engagement Plan aligned with IAP2 methodologies.
- Designed and produced all engagement materials including print, digital, and social media content.
- Led and facilitated a range of targeted engagement activities across the LGA.
- Conducted school engagement, reaching 85% of primary and high schools in Singleton LGA.
- Facilitated round table forums with key user groups, including sports clubs, youth organisations, and disability groups.
- Delivered pop-up ‘have your say’ sessions in public spaces and retirement villages to reach diverse community cohorts.
- Coordinated stakeholder workshops and precinct group round tables to gather in-depth insights.
- Held round table discussions with the Local Health District to understand population health trends and explore opportunities for the facility to support preventative health outcomes.
- Conducted detailed analysis of all engagement data to identify key needs, barriers, and opportunities.
- Provided a comprehensive report of engagement findings and strategic recommendations to inform the future design and programming of the proposed health and wellness hub.
