Project Description:
LARCAN was appointed as the Executive Officer for Parks and Leisure Australia NSW/ACT to lead the coordination, delivery, and strategic support of all regional activities. Representing a membership base that is largely comprised of local councils, the role includes governance, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, professional development, and operational management of the region in alignment with national PLA frameworks.
Description of Services:
- Delivered all executive and operational functions for the PLA NSW/ACT Region in alignment with national strategy.
- Coordinated regional governance including Regional Council meetings, reporting, and national liaison.
- Developed and managed annual strategic plan reviews and operational calendars.
- Produced and delivered a professional development program aligned with national priorities, including webinars, workshops, and major events.
- Organised and delivered the annual PLA NSW/ACT Region Conference and Awards of Excellence, including sponsorship, program development, and stakeholder management.
- Managed all regional financial operations, budgeting, reporting, grant acquittals, and sponsor servicing.
- Facilitated advocacy efforts, policy positions, and strategic communications to support NSW and ACT councils and sector partners.
- Maintained stakeholder relationships across local and state government, industry bodies, and PLA national teams.
- Oversaw regional communications including newsletters, social media, website updates, and member correspondence.
- Represented the PLA NSW/ACT Region at National Conferences and Strategic Planning sessions.
- Presented at three consecutive PLA NSW/ACT Region Conferences on aquatic feasibility to support council capacity building.
- Actively supported member retention, engagement, and sector growth through targeted outreach and council liaison.
